A winning night for World Forum The Hague and GL events at the C&IT awards in London

World Forum The Hague crowned Best Overseas Conference Venue during C&IT awards in London.

World Forum The Hague Convention Centre was given an award at the prestigious ceremony by the Conference & Incentives Travel magazine, which took place September 23 in London. It was an opportunity for GL events and in particular GL events Venues sales office in the UK to present its offer to the UK event organisers.

An eagerly-awaited fixture for the entire UK meeting professional community

C&IT rewards the best events of the year, onrganised by agencies and companies from various businesses (automotive, finance, IT, pharma, etc.) as well as event technologies, business destinations and conference centres.

The 2017 edition of the event put a spotlight on several outstanding cities, competing in the Short Haul Destination Category such as Berlin, Dublin, Malta. Most votes from the public jury went to The Hague and World Forum recognising it as a premier business event destination.

A recognition of efforts for World Forum and the Hague Convention Bureau

“We can’t be more proud,” said Ms Nienke van der Malen, Director of The Hague Convention Bureau, an organization which is tasked with profiling the The Hague as a business event destination. “In the last two years we have made huge strides in making The Hague more accessible as an event destination – through information and awareness programmes, building strong relationships with event organizers and through positioning our city in a consistent and appealing manner.”

The Hague is a world-class city on the coast of The Netherlands, with a rich cultural heritage and global status, and is a centre of excellence for many key industry sectors.  The Hague is exceptionally well-connected to Schiphol, one of Europe’s largest airports, only a 30-minute train ride away.

A spotlight for GL events Venues on the UK market

GL events via its GL events Venues sales office and international venues portfolio was very much involved in this major sector event within promotional efforts before and during the awards night.
